Reflections on Voices of Migration in Vilnius

Reflections on Voices of Migration in Vilnius

On November 29th, the Voices of Migration project reached its grand conclusion in Vilnius, Lithuania. This meaningful event celebrated the power of storytelling and intercultural dialogue in fostering empathy and understanding for young people with migrant and refugee backgrounds.

The day began with a presentation tailored for youth workers, introducing the educational resources developed throughout the project. Grounded in a public history approach, these resources empower youth workers to engage young people with migration stories, building bridges of inclusion and connection.

A public event followed, bringing together 67 participants. Together, we looked back at the journey of Voices of Migration — from the initial idea and the very first partner meeting in Vilnius to impactful training sessions in Braga. The highlight of the event was a heartfelt sharing by Anna Zakopailo, who recounted her experiences of living in Lithuania, offering a personal lens into the themes of the project.

While this marks the end of this chapter, the story of Voices of Migration will continue to inspire and spark conversations. We are confident that the connections made and the resources developed will carry forward the project’s mission to promote inclusion and understanding for years to come.
